This is the weak Piola identity for Lipschitz test functions.

Let n∈Nn\in\mathbb Nn∈N, let u:EuclideanSpace⁡(R,Fin⁡(n))→Ru:\operatorname{EuclideanSpace}(\mathbb R,\operatorname{Fin}(n))\to\mathbb Ru:EuclideanSpace(R,Fin(n))→R be C1C^1C1 with Lipschitz gradient, and let ψ\psiψ be Lipschitz with compact support. For every row index i<ni<ni<n,

∑j<n∫adj⁡(H(x))ij Dψ(x)ej dx=0,\sum_{j<n}\int \operatorname{adj}(H(x))_{ij}\,D\psi(x)e_j\,dx=0,j<n∑∫adj(H(x))ijDψ(x)ejdx=0,

where H(x)=hessianMatrix⁡(u,x)H(x)=\operatorname{hessianMatrix}(u,x)H(x)=hessianMatrix(u,x) and the integral is with respect to Lebesgue measure. The declaration sum_integral_adjugate_hessianMatrix_mul_fderiv_eq_zero_of_lipschitz_readable is a weak, integrated version of the smooth Piola identity. No positivity or invertibility of the Hessian is assumed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
