This statement formalizes the support-bound estimate for tilted expectations in the compact-prior stage of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec, p. 19.

Let Ω\OmegaΩ be a topological, measurable, Borel, second-countable space, and let μ\muμ be a probability measure with compact support. Let φ:Ω→R\varphi:\Omega\to\mathbb Rφ:Ω→R be continuous and let f:Ω→Rf:\Omega\to\mathbb Rf:Ω→R be measurable. Suppose C∈RC\in\mathbb RC∈R satisfies 0≤C0\leq C0≤C and

∥f(x)∥≤C\|f(x)\|\leq C∥f(x)∥≤C

on the support of μ\muμ. Then the integral of fff against the exponentially tilted measure is bounded by the same constant:

∥∫f d(μ.tilted⁡φ)∥≤C.\left\|\int f\,d(\mu.\operatorname{tilted}\varphi)\right\|\leq C.∫fd(μ.tiltedφ)≤C.

This is a finite-valued norm estimate for a tilted probability expectation and is useful for controlling posterior statistics.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
