This formalizes a covariance-radius estimate related to the compact posterior stage before Equation (67) of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1).

Let EEE be a finite-dimensional real inner-product space, let μ\muμ be a probability law with compact support, and let r≥0r\ge0r≥0. Assume

supp⁡(μ)⊆B‾(0,r).\operatorname{supp}(\mu)\subseteq\overline{B}(0,r).supp(μ)⊆B(0,r).

For arbitrary c∈Ec\in Ec∈E and continuous linear Q:E→EQ:E\to EQ:E→E, let μc,Q\mu_{c,Q}μc,Q be the compact posterior. Then the operator norm of its covariance operator satisfies

∥Cov⁡(μc,Q)∥≤r2.\left\|\operatorname{Cov}(\mu_{c,Q})\right\|\le r^2.∥Cov(μc,Q)∥≤r2.

The estimate bounds posterior covariance uniformly in the finite parameters ccc and QQQ whenever the prior is supported in a ball of radius rrr.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
