This theorem gives an L2L^2L2 consequence of one positive exponential moment.

Let μ\muμ be a probability measure on a measurable normed space EEE. Suppose that some r>0r>0r>0 satisfies x↦er∥x∥∈L1(μ)x\mapsto e^{r\|x\|}\in L^1(\mu)x↦er∥x∥∈L1(μ). Let g:E→Rg:E\to\mathbb Rg:E→R be continuous and assume that, for some C∈RC\in\mathbb RC∈R and k∈Nk\in\mathbb Nk∈N,

∥g(x)∥≤C(1+∥x∥)kfor every x∈E.\|g(x)\|\le C(1+\|x\|)^k\qquad\text{for every }x\in E.∥g(x)∥≤C(1+∥x∥)kfor every x∈E.

Then g∈L2(μ)g\in L^2(\mu)g∈L2(μ), expressed in Lean as MemLp g 2 μ. This is a technical integrability criterion used for polynomially bounded observables.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
