This is a technical compact-test estimate for a Gaussian product coupling in finite-dimensional Euclidean space.

Let n∈Nn\in\mathbb Nn∈N, let μ\muμ and ν\nuν be probability measures on E=EuclideanSpace⁡(R,Fin⁡(n))E=\operatorname{EuclideanSpace}(\mathbb R,\operatorname{Fin}(n))E=EuclideanSpace(R,Fin(n)), and let u:E→Ru:E\to\mathbb Ru:E→R and L,G∈[0,∞)L,G\in[0,\infty)L,G∈[0,∞) satisfy:

  1. uuu is C1C^1C1.
  2. uuu is LLL-Lipschitz.
  3. ∇u\nabla u∇u is GGG-Lipschitz.
  4. ∫Ee−u(y) dy=1\int_E e^{-u(y)}\,dy=1∫Ee−u(y)dy=1.
  5. The pushforward of the tilted volume measure e−u dye^{-u}\,dye−udy by ∇u\nabla u∇u is μ\muμ.

For every continuous linear map S:E→ES:E\to ES:E→E, vector v∈Ev\in Ev∈E, scalar s>0s>0s>0 such that ν\nuν is the sss-Gaussian smoothing of the pushforward S#μS_\#\muS#μ, and every C∞C^\inftyC∞ compactly supported function h:E→Rh:E\to\mathbb Rh:E→R, one has

(∫E⟨x,v⟩h(x) dν(x))2≤(∫E×E∥S ⁣(action⁡(∇2u(p1),S∗v))+(2s)−1v∥2 dP(p1,p2))(∫E∥Df(x)∥2 dν(x)),\left(\int_E \langle x,v\rangle h(x)\,d\nu(x)\right)^2 \le \left(\int_{E\times E} \left\|S\!\left(\operatorname{action}(\nabla^2u(p_1),S^*v)\right)+(2s)^{-1}v\right\|^2\,dP(p_1,p_2)\right) \left(\int_E \|Df(x)\|^2\,d\nu(x)\right),(∫E⟨x,v⟩h(x)dν(x))2≤(∫E×ES(action(∇2u(p1),S∗v))+(2s)−1v2dP(p1,p2))(∫E∥Df(x)∥2dν(x)),

where PPP is the product of the tilted source measure and the Gaussian law of variance parameter sss. Here the derivative term is the operator norm of the Fréchet derivative DhDhDh (written in Lean as fderiv ℝ h x). The statement is reusable as a compact dual Cauchy–Schwarz estimate for this particular latent Gaussian coupling; it does not construct a target Stein kernel or an inverse transport.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
