This theorem is the change-of-measure identity associated with a tilted Haar measure.

Let VVV be a normed additive group with a measurable structure, let mmm be an additive Haar measure, let ν\nuν be a probability measure, and let U:V→RU:V\to\mathbb RU:V→R. Assume

ν=m.tilted⁡(−U).\nu=m.\operatorname{tilted}(-U).ν=m.tilted(−U).

Then, for every function F:V→RF:V\to\mathbb RF:V→R,

∫VF(x) dm(x)=∫VZeU(x)F(x) dν(x),Z=∫Ve−U(y) dm(y).\int_V F(x)\,dm(x) = \int_V Z e^{U(x)}F(x)\,d\nu(x), \qquad Z=\int_V e^{-U(y)}\,dm(y).∫VF(x)dm(x)=∫VZeU(x)F(x)dν(x),Z=∫Ve−U(y)dm(y).

The identity is stated without inner-product, finite-dimensional, or topological hypotheses beyond those required for the measures. It is a basic reusable formula for converting Haar integrals into integrals against the probability law; no integrability assumption on FFF is separately imposed in the theorem.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
