This formalizes a supporting weak inverse-Hessian identity, cited as a partial formalization of Lemma 2.4 of Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1).

Let u,F:EuclideanSpace⁡(R,Fin⁡(n))→Ru,F:\operatorname{EuclideanSpace}(\mathbb R,\operatorname{Fin}(n))\to\mathbb Ru,F:EuclideanSpace(R,Fin(n))→R. Assume:

  1. uuu is C1C^1C1 with Lipschitz gradient, FFF is Lipschitz, and almost everywhere det⁡H=eF\det H=e^FdetH=eF, where H=hessianMatrix⁡(u,⋅)H=\operatorname{hessianMatrix}(u,\cdot)H=hessianMatrix(u,⋅).
  2. A tensor T(x,k,a,b)T(x,k,a,b)T(x,k,a,b) is supplied together with weak directional derivatives of each entry H(x)ij−1H(x)^{-1}_{ij}H(x)ij−1, namely the derivative along eke_kek is
−(H(x)−1T(x,k)H(x)−1)ij.-\bigl(H(x)^{-1}T(x,k)H(x)^{-1}\bigr)_{ij}.−(H(x)−1T(x,k)H(x)−1)ij.
  1. These weak derivatives and inverse entries have the stated local L2L^2L2 and local L∞L^\inftyL∞ (ENNReal exponent ⊤\top⊤) membership on every compact set.

Then, for every row bbb, the vector field

x↦∑aH(x)ba−1 DF(x)eax\mapsto\sum_a H(x)^{-1}_{ba}\,DF(x)e_ax↦a∑H(x)ba−1DF(x)ea

belongs to L2L^2L2 on every compact set, and almost everywhere

∑a−(H(x)−1T(x,a)H(x)−1)ba=−∑aH(x)ba−1 DF(x)ea.\sum_a-\bigl(H(x)^{-1}T(x,a)H(x)^{-1}\bigr)_{ba} =-\sum_a H(x)^{-1}_{ba}\,DF(x)e_a.a∑−(H(x)−1T(x,a)H(x)−1)ba=−a∑H(x)ba−1DF(x)ea.

The declaration ae_inverse_hessian_row_divergence_of_weak_derivative_readable is an interface theorem for a fixed weak inverse-derivative object; it does not construct TTT.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
