This is a weak inverse-Hessian integration-by-parts identity associated with equation (2.2) of Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1), and supports Lemma A.4.

Let u,V,w,η:Rn→Ru,V,w,\eta:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb Ru,V,w,η:Rn→R be C1C^1C1, with uuu having Lipschitz gradient, VVV having the stated C1C^1C1 regularity, and www having Lipschitz gradient. Assume −u+V∘∇u-u+V\circ\nabla u−u+V∘∇u is Lipschitz and

det⁡∇2u=exp⁡(−u+V(∇u))\det\nabla^2u=\exp(-u+V(\nabla u))det∇2u=exp(−u+V(∇u))

a.e. Assume that η\etaη is compactly supported. Then

∫η(x)(tr⁡((∇2u(x))−1∇2w(x))−∇V(∇u(x))⋅∇w(x))e−u(x) dx\int \eta(x)\left(\operatorname{tr}\bigl((\nabla^2u(x))^{-1}\nabla^2w(x)\bigr) -\nabla V(\nabla u(x))\cdot\nabla w(x)\right)e^{-u(x)}\,dx∫η(x)(tr((∇2u(x))−1∇2w(x))−∇V(∇u(x))⋅∇w(x))e−u(x)dx =−∫(∑i,j(∇2u(x))ij−1 ∂iη(x) ∂jw(x))e−u(x) dx.=-\int\left(\sum_{i,j}(\nabla^2u(x))^{-1}_{ij}\,\partial_i\eta(x)\,\partial_jw(x)\right)e^{-u(x)}\,dx.=−∫(i,j∑(∇2u(x))ij−1∂iη(x)∂jw(x))e−u(x)dx.

The statement uses only C1C^1C1 regularity for the displayed functions and supplies the weighted generator–energy identity for compact multipliers.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
