This establishes cancellation of a weighted product of separated Brownian increments. Let WWW be a Brownian motion with Brownian filtration F\mathcal FF, let 0≤a1<b1≤a2<b20\le a_1<b_1\le a_2<b_20≤a1<b1≤a2<b2, and let ξ1,ξ2,g:Ω→R\xi_1,\xi_2,g:\Omega\to\mathbb Rξ1,ξ2,g:Ω→R be strongly measurable with respect to Fa1\mathcal F_{a_1}Fa1, Fa2\mathcal F_{a_2}Fa2, and Fa1\mathcal F_{a_1}Fa1, respectively. Then

∫g (ξ1(Wb1−Wa1))(ξ2(Wb2−Wa2)) dP=0.\int g\,\bigl(\xi_1(W_{b_1}-W_{a_1})\bigr)\bigl(\xi_2(W_{b_2}-W_{a_2})\bigr)\,dP=0.∫g(ξ1(Wb1−Wa1))(ξ2(Wb2−Wa2))dP=0.

This is a technical off-diagonal identity used when expanding squared sums of Brownian increments; the later increment is conditionally centered relative to the information available at a2a_2a2.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
