This theorem describes the affine support of a pushforward probability law.

Let V1V_1V1 and V2V_2V2 be normed real inner-product spaces with measurable Borel structures, let ν\nuν be a probability measure on V1V_1V1, and let T:V1→V2T:V_1\to V_2T:V1→V2 be a continuous linear equivalence. Assume the second-countable and finite-dimensional hypotheses stated in the type. Then

affineSupport⁡(T#ν)=T(affineSupport⁡(ν)),\operatorname{affineSupport}(T_\#\nu) = T\bigl(\operatorname{affineSupport}(\nu)\bigr),affineSupport(T#ν)=T(affineSupport(ν)),

where the image on the right is the affine-subspace map induced by the linear equivalence. In Lean, the pushforward is mapContinuousLinearEquiv and the affine-subspace image is formed with AffineSubspace.map. This is a transport lemma for affine support and does not assert anything about covariance or moments.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
