This is the weak derivative formula for the first Monge–Ampère right-hand side, corresponding to part of Lemma 2.4 of Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1).

Let uuu be C1C^1C1 with Lipschitz uuu and Lipschitz gradient, let WWW be C2C^2C2, and let TTT be a tensor of compact-local L2L^2L2 weak derivatives of the Hessian HuH_uHu. For every i,ji,ji,j, the function

−∂iu+∑aHia ∂aW(∇u)-\partial_i u+\sum_a H_{ia}\,\partial_aW(\nabla u)−∂iu+a∑Hia∂aW(∇u)

has weak derivative along eje_jej equal to

−Hji+∑a(Tjia ∂aW(∇u)+Hia∑bHjb ∂baW(∇u)).-H_{ji}+\sum_a\left(T_{jia}\,\partial_aW(\nabla u) +H_{ia}\sum_b H_{jb}\,\partial_{ba}W(\nabla u)\right).−Hji+a∑(Tjia∂aW(∇u)+Hiab∑Hjb∂baW(∇u)).

The derivative density belongs locally to L2L^2L2 on every compact set. No C2C^2C2 regularity of uuu is assumed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
