This statement proves homogeneity of the Taylor tensor taylorTensor under scalar multiplication.

Let EEE be a real inner-product space with a measurable structure, let μ\muμ be any measure on EEE, let c∈Rc\in\mathbb Rc∈R, let f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb Rf:E→R, and let d∈Nd\in\mathbb Nd∈N. Then

Td(cf)=c Tdf.T_d(cf)=c\,T_d f.Td(cf)=cTdf.

This is an algebraic scaling property of the Taylor-tensor construction and is useful for transporting scalar factors through tensor estimates.

Formalization Note No finite-dimensionality, Borel-space, finiteness, integrability, or square-integrability assumptions occur in the statement. Scalar multiplication on the target continuous multilinear map is Lean's SMul operation.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
