This is a technical additivity statement for the Taylor tensor taylorTensor associated with tilt averages.

Let EEE be a finite-dimensional real inner-product normed additive group equipped with its Borel measurable structure, and let μ\muμ be a finite, nonzero measure on EEE. Assume that:

  1. For every real number rrr, the function x↦exp⁡(r∥x∥)x \mapsto \exp(r\lVert x\rVert)x↦exp(r∥x∥) is integrable with respect to μ\muμ.
  2. The functions f,g:E→Rf,g : E \to \mathbb{R}f,g:E→R belong to L2(μ)L^2(\mu)L2(μ), expressed in Lean as MemLp f 2 μ and MemLp g 2 μ.
  3. ddd is a natural number.

Then the Taylor tensor of the pointwise sum f+gf+gf+g is the sum of the individual Taylor tensors:

taylorTensor⁡μ(f+g,d)=taylorTensor⁡μ(f,d)+taylorTensor⁡μ(g,d).\operatorname{taylorTensor}_{\mu}(f+g,d) = \operatorname{taylorTensor}_{\mu}(f,d)+\operatorname{taylorTensor}_{\mu}(g,d).taylorTensorμ(f+g,d)=taylorTensorμ(f,d)+taylorTensorμ(g,d).

This declaration records the linearity of the Taylor-tensor construction on square-integrable functions and can be reused whenever the stated exponential-moment and L2L^2L2 hypotheses hold.

Formalization Note The measure is only assumed finite and nonzero, not necessarily a probability measure. The equality is asserted for every natural-number order ddd in the finite-dimensional space EEE; the MemLp hypotheses use exponent 222 with respect to μ\muμ.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
