This formalizes the weak-limit transfer step of the regular-approximation reduction associated with Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1), Section 2, (12), p. 5 (unnumbered).

Let EEE be a finite-dimensional complete real inner product space with its Borel measurable structure and a second-countable topology. Assume:

  1. Probability measures μj\mu_jμj converge weakly to a log-concave probability measure μ\muμ (KLS.LogConcave).
  2. Cj,C∈[0,∞)C_j,C\in[0,\infty)Cj,C∈[0,∞) and Cj→CC_j\to CCj→C.
  3. Each μj\mu_jμj satisfies Poincare.SmoothTest.Holds with real constant CjC_jCj: every admissible smooth test satisfies Var⁡μj(f)≤Cj∫∥∇f∥2 dμj\operatorname{Var}_{\mu_j}(f)\le C_j\int\|\nabla f\|^2\,d\mu_jVarμj(f)≤Cj∫∥∇f∥2dμj. Admissibility requires f∈C∞∩L2(μj)f\in C^\infty\cap L^2(\mu_j)f∈C∞∩L2(μj) and integrable squared gradient.

Then the intrinsic literature local-slope constant satisfies

CPlit(μ)≤C.C_P^{\mathrm{lit}}(\mu)\le C.CPlit(μ)≤C.

This transfers supplied smooth-test bounds to the literature constant of the limit; the approximating laws need not be log-concave.

Formalization Note CPlitC_P^{\mathrm{lit}}CPlit is Poincare.LocalSlope.Intrinsic.constant, valued in ENNReal. The constants are NNReal, coerced to reals in the hypotheses and to ENNReal in the conclusion.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
