This is a weak finite-product Leibniz rule on Rn\mathbb{R}^nRn.

Let sss be a finite set of indices, let fif_ifi and dfidf_idfi be real-valued functions, and let vvv be a direction. Assume for every i∈si\in si∈s that fif_ifi has weak derivative dfidf_idfi along vvv, each fif_ifi belongs to L∞L^{\infty}L∞ with respect to Lebesgue measure, and each dfidf_idfi belongs locally to L2L^2L2 on compact sets. Then the product has weak derivative

∂v ⁣(∏i∈sfi)=∑i∈sdfi∏j∈s∖{i}fj,\partial_v\!\left(\prod_{i\in s}f_i\right) =\sum_{i\in s}df_i\prod_{j\in s\setminus\{i\}}f_j,∂v(i∈s∏fi)=i∈s∑dfij∈s∖{i}∏fj,

and the displayed derivative belongs locally to L2L^2L2 on every compact set. The assertion includes the empty-product case.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
