This theorem transfers L2(ν;V)L^2(\nu;V)L2(ν;V) convergence of vector fields to convergence of localized Haar pairings.

Let VVV be a finite-dimensional real inner-product space, let mmm be an additive Haar measure, let ν\nuν be a probability measure, and let U:V→RU:V\to\mathbb RU:V→R be continuous with ν=m.tilted⁡(−U)\nu=m.\operatorname{tilted}(-U)ν=m.tilted(−U). Suppose Gn:V→VG_n:V\to VGn:V→V are all in L2(ν;V)L^2(\nu;V)L2(ν;V) and their MemLp.toLp classes converge to F∈L2(ν;V)F\in L^2(\nu;V)F∈L2(ν;V). If ψ:V→R\psi:V\to\mathbb Rψ:V→R is continuous and compactly supported, then for every direction w∈Vw\in Vw∈V,

∫Vψ(x)⟨Gn(x),w⟩ dm(x)⟶∫Vψ(x)⟨F(x),w⟩ dm(x).\int_V \psi(x)\langle G_n(x),w\rangle\,dm(x) \longrightarrow \int_V \psi(x)\langle F(x),w\rangle\,dm(x).∫Vψ(x)⟨Gn(x),w⟩dm(x)⟶∫Vψ(x)⟨F(x),w⟩dm(x).

The result is useful when passing from graph approximations in L2(ν;V)L^2(\nu;V)L2(ν;V) to weak identities written with respect to the Haar measure. The compact support of ψ\psiψ supplies the required local integrability.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
