This theorem relates an exponential tilt of a tilted measure to a single tilt with a modified potential.

Let EEE be a real inner-product space, let mmm be a measure on EEE, and let V:E→RV:E\to\mathbb RV:E→R. Assume that x↦e−V(x)x\mapsto e^{-V(x)}x↦e−V(x) is integrable with respect to mmm. For every z∈Ez\in Ez∈E,

expTilt⁡(m.tilted⁡(−V))(z)=m.tilted⁡(−(V−⟨z,⋅⟩)).\operatorname{expTilt}\bigl(m.\operatorname{tilted}(-V)\bigr)(z) =m.\operatorname{tilted}\bigl(-(V-\langle z,\cdot\rangle)\bigr).expTilt(m.tilted(−V))(z)=m.tilted(−(V−⟨z,⋅⟩)).

The definitions expTilt and Measure.tilted are used exactly as stated; no finite-dimensional, completeness, Borel, or Haar-measure assumptions are required by the theorem. This identity is a basic algebraic rule for manipulating exponential tilts.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
