This is the almost-everywhere positive-semidefinite extension step associated with Theorem 2.5 of Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1).

Let ι\iotaι be a finite index type with decidable equality, let (Ω,ν)(\Omega,\nu)(Ω,ν) be an arbitrary measurable space with measure ν\nuν, let C∈RC\in\mathbb RC∈R, and let H:Ω→Matrix⁡(ι,ι,R)H:\Omega\to\operatorname{Matrix}(\iota,\iota,\mathbb R)H:Ω→Matrix(ι,ι,R). Assume:

  1. every entry of HHH is measurable;
  2. H(x)H(x)H(x) is positive semidefinite for ν\nuν-almost every xxx;
  3. for every positive semidefinite matrix AAA, the function x↦tr⁡(AH(x)AH(x))x\mapsto\operatorname{tr}(AH(x)AH(x))x↦tr(AH(x)AH(x)) is ν\nuν-integrable and
∫tr⁡(AH(x)AH(x)) dν(x)≤Ctr⁡(A2).\int \operatorname{tr}(AH(x)AH(x))\,d\nu(x) \le C\operatorname{tr}(A^2).∫tr(AH(x)AH(x))dν(x)≤Ctr(A2).

Then every symmetric matrix BBB has the same integrability and bound:

∫tr⁡(BH(x)BH(x)) dν(x)≤Ctr⁡(B2).\int \operatorname{tr}(BH(x)BH(x))\,d\nu(x) \le C\operatorname{tr}(B^2).∫tr(BH(x)BH(x))dν(x)≤Ctr(B2).

The theorem transfers a hypothesis stated only for positive semidefinite test matrices to all symmetric test matrices.

Formalization Note The coefficient CCC has no sign assumption, ν\nuν need not be finite, and all positivity and almost-everywhere assertions use the stated matrix and measure-theoretic notions.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
