This statement shows that log-concavity pulls back through a continuous linear equivalence when its pushforward law is log-concave.

Let EEE and FFF be real normed vector spaces, each equipped with a Borel measurable structure. Let μμμ be a probability measure on EEE and let ννν be a probability measure on FFF. Assume:

  1. μμμ is log-concave.
  2. T:F→ET : F → ET:F→E is a continuous linear equivalence over RℝR.
  3. The pushforward of ννν by TTT is μμμ:
T∗ν=μ.T_*ν = μ.T∗ν=μ.

Then ννν is log-concave:

ν is log-concave.ν\text{ is log-concave}.ν is log-concave.

This provides a reusable change-of-space principle for log-concave probability laws, without requiring inner-product or finite-dimensional structure in either space.

Formalization Note The conclusion is the predicate KLS.LogConcave; the pushforward equation is Lean's Measure.map equality after coercing the probability measures to measures. The map TTT is a continuous linear equivalence, so both TTT and its inverse are continuous and injective.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
