This is the isotropic reduction for a log-concave law.

Let EEE be a finite-dimensional real inner-product normed space with Borel and second-countable structure, and let μ\muμ be a log-concave probability measure on EEE. Then there exists a probability measure ν′\nu'ν′ on the direction space of affineSupport⁡(μ)\operatorname{affineSupport}(\mu)affineSupport(μ) such that:

  1. ν′\nu'ν′ is log-concave;
  2. ν′\nu'ν′ is isotropic, including finite second moment, zero mean, and identity covariance operator;
  3. the intrinsic covariance-gradient Poincaré constant of μ\muμ equals the intrinsic local-slope constant of ν′\nu'ν′:
CPCov,intr(μ)=CPLocalSlope,intr(ν′).C_P^{\mathrm{Cov},\mathrm{intr}}(\mu)=C_P^{\mathrm{LocalSlope},\mathrm{intr}}(\nu').CPCov,intr(μ)=CPLocalSlope,intr(ν′).

The conclusion is existential and may place ν′\nu'ν′ on a lower-dimensional affine direction space; it does not assert finiteness of the common constant.
