This theorem gives a sequential graph-norm core for the closed weighted-gradient operator.

Let VVV be a finite-dimensional real inner-product space with the stated measurable, Borel, complete, and second-countable structures. Let mmm be an additive Haar measure on VVV, let ν\nuν be a log-concave probability measure, let B:V→VB:V\to VB:V→V be continuous linear, and assume that the interior of the support of ν\nuν is nonempty. For any

x∈D ⁣(T‾ν,m,B),x\in D\!\left(\overline{T}_{\nu,m,B}\right),x∈D(Tν,m,B),

there exist functions gn:V→Rg_n:V\to\mathbb Rgn:V→R such that each gng_ngn is C∞C^\inftyC∞ and compactly supported, and

[gn]⟶xin L2(ν),[g_n]\longrightarrow x \quad\text{in }L^2(\nu),[gn]⟶xin L2(ν),

while

[B∇gn]⟶T‾ν,m,Bxin L2(ν;V).[B\nabla g_n]\longrightarrow \overline{T}_{\nu,m,B}x \quad\text{in }L^2(\nu;V).[B∇gn]⟶Tν,m,Bxin L2(ν;V).

In Lean, the operator is closedWeightedOperator, and the convergences are expressed using MemLp.toLp and Tendsto. The result controls the function and its first weighted derivative only; it makes no assertion about second-order quantities.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
