This formalizes the weak form of equation (2.2) in Letwin (arXiv:2607.24164v1), with a reviewed relation to Theorem 2.5.

Let u,V,w,ηu,V,w,\etau,V,w,η be functions on EuclideanSpace⁡ R (Fin⁡(n))\operatorname{EuclideanSpace}\,\mathbb R\,(\operatorname{Fin}(n))EuclideanSpaceR(Fin(n)). Assume:

  1. uuu and www are C1C^1C1;
  2. ∇u\nabla u∇u and ∇w\nabla w∇w are Lipschitz;
  3. VVV is C1C^1C1;
  4. −u+V∘∇u-u+V\circ\nabla u−u+V∘∇u is Lipschitz;
  5. almost everywhere,
det⁡(hessianMatrix⁡(u,x))=e−u(x)+V(∇u(x));\det(\operatorname{hessianMatrix}(u,x))=e^{-u(x)+V(\nabla u(x))};det(hessianMatrix(u,x))=e−u(x)+V(∇u(x));
  1. η\etaη is C2C^2C2 and compactly supported.

Then

∫η(x)(tr⁡(Hu(x)−1Hw(x))−DV(∇u(x))[∇w(x)])e−u(x) dx\int \eta(x)\left(\operatorname{tr}\bigl(H_u(x)^{-1}H_w(x)\bigr)-DV(\nabla u(x))[\nabla w(x)]\right)e^{-u(x)}\,dx∫η(x)(tr(Hu(x)−1Hw(x))−DV(∇u(x))[∇w(x)])e−u(x)dx =−∫(∑i,j(Hu(x)−1)ij Dη(x)[ei] Dw(x)[ej])e−u(x) dx.=-\int\left(\sum_{i,j}(H_u(x)^{-1})_{ij}\,D\eta(x)[e_i]\,Dw(x)[e_j]\right)e^{-u(x)}\,dx.=−∫(i,j∑(Hu(x)−1)ijDη(x)[ei]Dw(x)[ej])e−u(x)dx.

The formula is an integration-by-parts identity for the weak inverse-Hessian generator. It uses ordinary Lebesgue integrals and an almost-everywhere determinant identity; it does not claim the main Hessian-energy estimate or any KLS bound.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
