This formalizes the weak inverse-Hessian generator identity with the roles of the test functions exchanged.

Let u,V,w,η:Rn→Ru,V,w,\eta:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb Ru,V,w,η:Rn→R. Assume: (1) u,w∈C1u,w\in C^1u,w∈C1, η∈C2\eta\in C^2η∈C2, and η\etaη has compact support; (2) ∇u\nabla u∇u and ∇w\nabla w∇w are globally Lipschitz; (3) V∈C1V\in C^1V∈C1; (4) −u+V∘∇u-u+V\circ\nabla u−u+V∘∇u is Lipschitz; and (5) almost everywhere,

det⁡∇2u(x)=e−u(x)+V(∇u(x)).\det\nabla^2u(x)=e^{-u(x)+V(\nabla u(x))}.det∇2u(x)=e−u(x)+V(∇u(x)).

Then, with all integrals over Lebesgue volume on Rn\mathbb R^nRn,

∫w(x)[tr⁡ ⁣((∇2u(x))−1∇2η(x))−DV(∇u(x))[∇η(x)]]e−u(x) dx\int w(x)\left[\operatorname{tr}\!\left((\nabla^2u(x))^{-1}\nabla^2\eta(x)\right)-DV(\nabla u(x))[\nabla\eta(x)]\right]e^{-u(x)}\,dx∫w(x)[tr((∇2u(x))−1∇2η(x))−DV(∇u(x))[∇η(x)]]e−u(x)dx =−∫∑i,j(∇2u(x))ij−1 ∂iη(x) ∂jw(x) e−u(x) dx.=-\int\sum_{i,j}(\nabla^2u(x))^{-1}_{ij}\,\partial_i\eta(x)\,\partial_jw(x)\,e^{-u(x)}\,dx.=−∫i,j∑(∇2u(x))ij−1∂iη(x)∂jw(x)e−u(x)dx.

This is a supporting weak integration-by-parts formula; it does not assert a KLS bound or additional regularity of uuu or www.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
