This formalizes the curvature inequality associated with Equation (16) of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1), used in Lemma 3.4.

Let EEE be a finite-dimensional real inner-product Banach space, let mmm be an additive Haar measure on EEE, and let V,f:E→RV,f:E\to\mathbb RV,f:E→R. Assume:

  1. VVV has temperate growth.
  2. For every r∈Rr\in\mathbb Rr∈R, the function x↦er∥x∥x\mapsto e^{r\|x\|}x↦er∥x∥ is integrable with respect to the tilted measure m.tilted⁡(−V)m.\operatorname{tilted}(-V)m.tilted(−V).
  3. fff has temperate growth.
  4. There is ρ∈R\rho\in\mathbb Rρ∈R such that, for every x,v∈Ex,v\in Ex,v∈E,
ρ∥v∥2≤D2V(x)[v,v].\rho\|v\|^2\le D^2V(x)[v,v].ρ∥v∥2≤D2V(x)[v,v].

Then, with hessianSqStdBasis denoting the squared Hilbert–Schmidt norm of the Hessian and weightedLaplacian the weighted Laplacian,

∫hessianSqStdBasis⁡(f)(x) dμ(x)+ρ∫∥∇f(x)∥2 dμ(x)≤∫(weightedLaplacian⁡(V,f)(x))2 dμ(x),\int \operatorname{hessianSqStdBasis}(f)(x)\,d\mu(x)+\rho\int\|\nabla f(x)\|^2\,d\mu(x)\le \int\bigl(\operatorname{weightedLaplacian}(V,f)(x)\bigr)^2\,d\mu(x),∫hessianSqStdBasis(f)(x)dμ(x)+ρ∫∥∇f(x)∥2dμ(x)≤∫(weightedLaplacian(V,f)(x))2dμ(x),

where μ=m.tilted⁡(−V)\mu=m.\operatorname{tilted}(-V)μ=m.tilted(−V).

This is an integrated Bochner-type estimate under a pointwise Hessian lower bound and is reusable in curvature and energy arguments for temperate functions.

Formalization Note. All integrals are real-valued integrals against the tilted measure; the statement is finite-dimensional and uses the exact temperate-growth and exponential-integrability hypotheses shown above.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
