This statement transfers a finite literature Poincaré bound to the domain of the closed unit gradient.

Let VVV be a finite-dimensional complete real inner product space with its Borel measurable structure and a second-countable topology. Let mmm be an additive Haar measure and ν\nuν a log-concave probability measure with int⁡(supp⁡ν)≠∅\operatorname{int}(\operatorname{supp}\nu)\ne\varnothingint(suppν)=∅. Set T=T=T= KLS.LogConcave.closedWeightedOperator for mmm and the identity weight. Assume C∈[0,∞)C\in[0,\infty)C∈[0,∞) and CPlit(ν)≤CC_P^{\mathrm{lit}}(\nu)\le CCPlit(ν)≤C, where CPlitC_P^{\mathrm{lit}}CPlit is Poincare.LocalSlope.Intrinsic.constant.

For every u∈D(T)u\in D(T)u∈D(T),

∥u−mean⁡ν(u)1∥L2(ν)2≤C ∥Tu∥L2(ν;V)2.\|u-\operatorname{mean}_\nu(u)\mathbf1\|_{L^2(\nu)}^2 \le C\,\|Tu\|_{L^2(\nu;V)}^2.∥u−meanν(u)1∥L2(ν)2≤C∥Tu∥L2(ν;V)2.

Here centering is L2.center. This provides the form-domain gap for the actual closed gradient, rather than only for smooth tests.

Formalization Note CCC is NNReal; its ENNReal coercion occurs in the hypothesis, and its real coercion in the conclusion. There is no factor of 1/21/21/2 in the squared-gradient term.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
