This is a technical density estimate for a nonnegative extended-real Legendre transform.

Let EEE be a real inner-product normed additive group, let ϕ:E→R‾\phi:E\to\overline{\mathbb R}ϕ:E→R, and let c,C,M,a∈Rc,C,M,a\in\mathbb Rc,C,M,a∈R. Assume:

  1. 0≤C0\le C0≤C.
  2. 1≤a1\le a1≤a and M≤aM\le aM≤a.
  3. For every y∈Ey\in Ey∈E, the Legendre transform ϕ∗(y)\phi^*(y)ϕ∗(y) is nonnegative and satisfies
c∥y∥−CM≤ϕ∗(y).c\|y\|-CM\le \phi^*(y).c∥y∥−CM≤ϕ∗(y).

Then, for every y∈Ey\in Ey∈E, the density associated with density and the scaled point ayayay obeys

density⁡(ϕ∗)(ay)≤ENNReal.ofReal⁡ ⁣(exp⁡(C−c∥y∥)).\operatorname{density}(\phi^*)(ay)\le \operatorname{ENNReal.ofReal}\!\left(\exp(C-c\|y\|)\right).density(ϕ∗)(ay)≤ENNReal.ofReal(exp(C−c∥y∥)).

This provides a reusable exponential envelope after scaling, without finite-dimensionality or measurability assumptions in the statement.

Formalization Note The density and bound are [0,∞][0,\infty][0,∞]-valued (ENNReal); the exponent is an ordinary real number.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
