This auxiliary statement formalizes equation (111) in the suspension argument for Proposition 7.1, p. 28, of Bizeul–Klartag–Lehec (arXiv:2610.05474v1).

Let n,N∈Nn,N\in\mathbb Nn,N∈N with N>0N>0N>0, and E=RnE=\mathbb R^nE=Rn (EuclideanSpace ℝ (Fin n)). Let hV:h_V:hV: RegularPotential V a b′V\ a\ b'V a b′: a,b′>0a,b'>0a,b′>0, VVV is smooth with derivatives of polynomial growth, and aId⁡≤D2V≤b′Id⁡a\operatorname{Id}\le D^2V\le b'\operatorname{Id}aId≤D2V≤b′Id. Put μ=hV.law\mu=h_V.\text{law}μ=hV.law, the normalized e−Ve^{-V}e−V law. Assume:

  1. β>0\beta>0β>0 and f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb Rf:E→R is C2C^2C2.
  2. ∥D(Df)(x)∥≤M\|D(Df)(x)\|\le M∥D(Df)(x)∥≤M for every xxx, where M∈RM\in\mathbb RM∈R.
  3. (β/N)M≤a(\beta/\sqrt N)M\le a(β/N)M≤a.

Set σβ=1+2/β2\sigma_\beta=\sqrt{1+2/\beta^2}σβ=1+2/β2 (sigma) and λ=\lambda=λ= jointLaw μ f β σβ N\mu\ f\ \beta\ \sigma_\beta\ Nμ f β σβ N on H=H=H= JointSpace N nN\ nN n. Write z0z_0z0 for the scalar coordinate, ziz_izi for the copy blocks, and e0e_0e0 for the scalar unit vector. There exists r>0r>0r>0 such that every z∈Hz\in Hz∈H with ∥z∥<r\|z\|<r∥z∥<r and z0=0z_0=0z0=0 satisfies

DΛλ(z)[e0]=1σβN∑i∈Fin⁡NFf(zi).D\Lambda_\lambda(z)[e_0]=\frac{1}{\sigma_\beta\sqrt N}\sum_{i\in\operatorname{Fin}N}F_f(z_i).DΛλ(z)[e0]=σβN1i∈FinN∑Ff(zi).

Here DDD is fderiv, Λλ=\Lambda_\lambda=Λλ= logLaplace, and Ff=F_f=Ff= tiltAverage. This supplies the local first-derivative identity for mixed-cumulant calculations; it does not require isotropy or normalization of fff.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
