This lemma converts an operator orthogonality relation into a Haar-measure weak equation.

Let VVV be finite-dimensional, let mmm be an additive Haar measure, let ν\nuν be log-concave with nonempty interior support, and let U∈C1(V)U\in C^1(V)U∈C1(V) satisfy ν=m.tilted⁡(−U)\nu=m.\operatorname{tilted}(-U)ν=m.tilted(−U). Let u∈L2(ν)u\in L^2(\nu)u∈L2(ν) be orthogonal to (A+1)Cc∞(V)(A+1)C_c^\infty(V)(A+1)Cc∞(V), meaning

⟨Af,u⟩+⟨f,u⟩=0\langle Af,u\rangle+\langle f,u\rangle=0⟨Af,u⟩+⟨f,u⟩=0

for every smooth compactly supported fff, with A=T‾†T‾A=\overline{T}^{\dagger}\overline{T}A=T†T. Then every such fff satisfies

∫V(Δf)(x) ρ(x)u(x) dm(x)=∫V⟨∇f(x),ρ(x)u(x)∇U(x)⟩ dm(x)+∫Vf(x)ρ(x)u(x) dm(x),\int_V (\Delta f)(x)\,\rho(x)u(x)\,dm(x) = \int_V \left\langle\nabla f(x),\rho(x)u(x)\nabla U(x)\right\rangle\,dm(x) +\int_V f(x)\rho(x)u(x)\,dm(x),∫V(Δf)(x)ρ(x)u(x)dm(x)=∫V⟨∇f(x),ρ(x)u(x)∇U(x)⟩dm(x)+∫Vf(x)ρ(x)u(x)dm(x),

where ρ=tiltedDensity(m,U)\rho=\texttt{tiltedDensity}(m,U)ρ=tiltedDensity(m,U). This is the divergence-form equation used in the interior-regularity argument.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
