This is the curvature estimate on smooth compactly supported functions.

Let VVV, ν\nuν, mmm, and UUU satisfy the heat-model assumptions, with ν=m.tilted⁡(−U)\nu=m.\operatorname{tilted}(-U)ν=m.tilted(−U) and U∈C2U\in C^2U∈C2. Let ρ∈R\rho\in\mathbb Rρ∈R and assume the Hessian lower bound

ρ∥v∥2≤D2U(x)[v,v](x,v∈V).\rho\|v\|^2\le D^2U(x)[v,v]\qquad(x,v\in V).ρ∥v∥2≤D2U(x)[v,v](x,v∈V).

For every smooth compactly supported fff, one has

ρ ∥∇‾[f]∥2≤∥A[f]∥2,\rho\,\|\overline{\nabla}[f]\|^2\le\|A[f]\|^2,ρ∥∇[f]∥2≤∥A[f]∥2,

where A=∇‾ †∇‾A=\overline{\nabla}^{\,\dagger}\overline{\nabla}A=∇†∇.

This is the smooth-core form of the curvature inequality and is intended for extension to the whole operator domain.

Formalization Note. The hypothesis does not require ρ>0\rho>0ρ>0; only the displayed pointwise Hessian inequality is assumed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
