This lemma states finite second moment, zero mean, and identity covariance for the suspension joint law under explicit Laplace moment hypotheses.

Let n,N∈Nn,N\in\mathbb Nn,N∈N with N>0N>0N>0, and let μ\muμ be a probability measure on E=RnE=\mathbb R^nE=Rn (EuclideanSpace ℝ (Fin n)). Assume:

  1. id⁡∈L2(μ)\operatorname{id}\in L^2(\mu)id∈L2(μ), ∫x dμ=0\int x\,d\mu=0∫xdμ=0, and ∫⟨u,x⟩⟨v,x⟩ dμ=⟨u,v⟩\int\langle u,x\rangle\langle v,x\rangle\,d\mu=\langle u,v\rangle∫⟨u,x⟩⟨v,x⟩dμ=⟨u,v⟩ for all u,v∈Eu,v\in Eu,v∈E.
  2. f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb Rf:E→R is measurable and in L2(μ)L^2(\mu)L2(μ), with ∫f dμ=0\int f\,d\mu=0∫fdμ=0, ∫f2 dμ=1\int f^2\,d\mu=1∫f2dμ=1, and ∫⟨u,x⟩f(x) dμ=0\int\langle u,x\rangle f(x)\,d\mu=0∫⟨u,x⟩f(x)dμ=0 for every u∈Eu\in Eu∈E.
  3. β>0\beta>0β>0 and ηβ=\eta_\beta=ηβ= laplaceMeasure β\betaβ is a probability measure; s,s2s,s^2s,s2 are integrable under it, with integrals 0,2/β20,2/\beta^20,2/β2.

Set σβ=1+2/β2\sigma_\beta=\sqrt{1+2/\beta^2}σβ=1+2/β2 (sigma). Let λ=\lambda=λ= jointLaw μ f β σβ N\mu\ f\ \beta\ \sigma_\beta\ Nμ f β σβ N, the law of ((N−1/2∑if(Xi)+η)/σβ,X1,…,XN)((N^{-1/2}\sum_i f(X_i)+\eta)/\sigma_\beta,X_1,\ldots,X_N)((N−1/2∑if(Xi)+η)/σβ,X1,…,XN) under independent copies and independent noise. Its target H=H=H= JointSpace N nN\ nN n is ROption⁡(Fin⁡N×Fin⁡n)\mathbb R^{\operatorname{Option}(\operatorname{Fin}N\times\operatorname{Fin}n)}ROption(FinN×Finn). Then

id⁡∈L2(λ),∫p dλ(p)=0,∀u,v∈H,∫⟨u,p⟩⟨v,p⟩ dλ(p)=⟨u,v⟩.\operatorname{id}\in L^2(\lambda),\qquad \int p\,d\lambda(p)=0,\qquad \forall u,v\in H,\quad \int\langle u,p\rangle\langle v,p\rangle\,d\lambda(p)=\langle u,v\rangle.id∈L2(λ),∫pdλ(p)=0,∀u,v∈H,∫⟨u,p⟩⟨v,p⟩dλ(p)=⟨u,v⟩.

These are the moment data used to establish isotropy of the joint law; log-concavity is not assumed here.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
