This lemma states that the suspension scalar has zero mixed moment with every linear observable of each copy.

Let n,N∈Nn,N\in\mathbb Nn,N∈N with N>0N>0N>0, and let μ\muμ be a probability measure on E=RnE=\mathbb R^nE=Rn (EuclideanSpace ℝ (Fin n)). Assume:

  1. id⁡∈L2(μ)\operatorname{id}\in L^2(\mu)id∈L2(μ) and ∫x dμ(x)=0\int x\,d\mu(x)=0∫xdμ(x)=0.
  2. f:E→Rf:E\to\mathbb Rf:E→R belongs to L2(μ)L^2(\mu)L2(μ), ∫f dμ=0\int f\,d\mu=0∫fdμ=0, ∫f2 dμ=1\int f^2\,d\mu=1∫f2dμ=1, and ∫⟨u,x⟩f(x) dμ(x)=0\int\langle u,x\rangle f(x)\,d\mu(x)=0∫⟨u,x⟩f(x)dμ(x)=0 for every u∈Eu\in Eu∈E.
  3. β>0\beta>0β>0, and ηβ=\eta_\beta=ηβ= laplaceMeasure β\betaβ is a probability measure. Both sss and s2s^2s2 are integrable under ηβ\eta_\betaηβ, with integrals 000 and 2/β22/\beta^22/β2, respectively.

Put FN(x)=∑kf(xk)/NF_N(x)=\sum_k f(x_k)/\sqrt NFN(x)=∑kf(xk)/N (copyStat), σβ=1+2/β2\sigma_\beta=\sqrt{1+2/\beta^2}σβ=1+2/β2 (sigma), S(x,s)=(FN(x)+s)/σβS(x,s)=(F_N(x)+s)/\sigma_\betaS(x,s)=(FN(x)+s)/σβ, and P=μ⊗N⊗ηβP=\mu^{\otimes N}\otimes\eta_\betaP=μ⊗N⊗ηβ. For every i∈Fin⁡Ni\in\operatorname{Fin}Ni∈FinN and u∈Eu\in Eu∈E,

S(x,s)⟨u,xi⟩∈L1(P),∫S(x,s)⟨u,xi⟩ dP(x,s)=0.S(x,s)\langle u,x_i\rangle\in L^1(P),\qquad \int S(x,s)\langle u,x_i\rangle\,dP(x,s)=0.S(x,s)⟨u,xi⟩∈L1(P),∫S(x,s)⟨u,xi⟩dP(x,s)=0.

This supplies cross-moment data for the suspension. No identity-covariance or log-concavity assumption on μ\muμ is imposed.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
