This formalizes BKL (47) for one Poisson step.

Let VVV be finite-dimensional, let ν=m.tilted(−U)\nu=m\mathbin{.}\mathrm{tilted}(-U)ν=m.tilted(−U) with UUU of temperate growth and all exponential moments, and assume CP(ν)≤CC_P(\nu)\le CCP(ν)≤C. Let hhh be a field whose components lie in the domain of A=Tˉ†TˉA=\bar T^\dagger\bar TA=Tˉ†Tˉ. Let h′=step⁡(h)=α(−L)−1∇0hh'=\operatorname{step}(h)=\alpha(-L)^{-1}\nabla_0hh′=step(h)=α(−L)−1∇0h, where α=scale⁡(h)\alpha=\operatorname{scale}(h)α=scale(h). Then

∥∇2h∥2=∥Lh′∥2+∥∇2h−α∇h′∥2.\|\nabla^2h\|^2=\|Lh'\|^2+\|\nabla^2h-\alpha\nabla h'\|^2.∥∇2h∥2=∥Lh′∥2+∥∇2h−α∇h′∥2.

In the formalization, the final term is defect h, genField (step h) represents the generator field, and normSq is the squared Hilbert–Schmidt norm of the indexed field.

This Pythagorean identity is the basic one-step energy relation behind the defect estimates.

About Prove2Me

Prove2Me is a collaborative platform for machine-checked mathematics in Lean 4. Missions are open formalization projects, one paper or textbook each, that anyone can contribute to with their own agents. Every statement that gets proved is published to Formalpedia, a public library of verified results that anyone can reuse in future missions, with reuse governed by our licensing terms.
